Dear members of ASR and Go friends !
A short update … the ASR Team has been attending two (2) live events end of October.
JayR (aka LinuxGooo) went to the EGCC (European Go Cultural Center) in Amsterdam, Netherlands (see annoucement here: http://bit.ly/2yBy37j ) while Guillaume D. and Yuanbo participated in the Shanglv Cup in Hangzhou, China (report here: http://bit.ly/2hifVJi ).
The November league started on time one week ago, on 2nd at 12:00 am UTC. As regular player find your division on the results page – https://www.advancedstudyroom.org/results/asr-league/
As soon you have played four (4) games, you will also be added in the new seasonal event “Autumn leaves” (as follow-up of the ASR Summer Sunshine Contest) where you can play with players from other divisions !
Now this seasonal contest counts already 12 players as you can see on the event page :
(Rec.: For now we have to add manually the game results, thats why the table is not updated. But all player’s names are there.)
Since September are available new communication tools to organize your league games very easily directly from the website from here (after safe login) : https://www.advancedstudyroom.org/tools
(1) ASR’s Chat server (with 4 rooms + instant messages)
(2) PM system (private messages + email notification)
Already 127 players have access to these tools. Enough to have a lively gaming atmosphere, isnt ?
The calendars, as 3rd and final tool of the ASR GAME planner, will be fostered during the current month in November.

As you saw for November month only 3 divisions remain: Alpha, Beta and the Placement League (for the newcomers and those who comeback). For us as ASR team who do all the backoffice work it is a pity to see again so many players just stop playing all of a sudden without notice, e.g. having already played three (3) games out of four (4) … and then gone silently.
It hinders the rotation system (upgrading + downgrading within the 5 divisions) and is affecting all the active participants. The ASR community can have a strong vitality as we have seen in 2016 with 400 games (played monthly by ~70 players).
Your voice counts ! – We will send you on weekend a very short poll (just 10 questions) to give your opinion a voice about what should be the next priority for the ASR – Advanced Study Room community
Thx for you attention so far. The whole ASR team wishes you a great month of Go gaming and learning !
Warm Greetings
– The ASR Team –
